Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization involves instruments made from stainless steel with bevelled edges. They are shaped to be able to conform to different parts of the body thus allowing for deeper penetration. It works by breaking down fascial restrictions and scar tissue that may have come about from surgery, immobilization, repeated strain or trauma.
